Zip Ties Are Litter Too • Point Loman

Yesterday Point Loman picked up two bags of litter on an epic 5.92-mile route along Americas Cup Harbor in Roseville and on Shelter Island. Lots of litter was collected in Port of San Diego parking lots, much of which comes from overnight vehicle inhabiters according to eyewitness reports.

Unfortunately a fair amount of litter appears to have come from festivals, including Day At The Docks and Easter. There is also no shortage of used zip ties lying around marinas and shipyards, which can easily be swept away by water into storm drains and then into our bay and ocean.

Point Loman trash cleanups are supported by I Love A Clean San Diego, which provides free supplies for public cleanups.
